The Cura Group, inc. Keep Sales Forces Connected
The Cura Group, Inc. is a management consulting company, which specializes in building sales forces with its clients. Over its 24 years in business, the company has worked with over 1,500 clients, primarily to build sales forces, from organizational, assessment-recruitment, incentive compensation, and technology standpoints. The company also has its own technology products, including “salesplus.net” friendly customizable sales force automation solution based upon Microsoft Outlook.
“Cura is a consulting firm, not a software developer,” said Frank Masie, Managing Principal. “Our focus is to define wants and needs, identify the solutions to drive results and to turnkey the solution right through implementation.”
Over the years, Cura recognized a growing need for sales forces to have the convenience of handheld technology while at customer sites. As handheld devices improved and grew in popularity, Cura saw an opportunity to meet this need and developed Mobile SalesPlus.
“Sales forces didn’t have a simple effective usable solution because with their customers and clients most all solutions require a laptop or a wired internet connection. No can take a laptop or notebook out in front of the customer,” said Frank Masie. “While broadband is now ubiquitous, it’s not always available when they need it, such as on planes or in certain geographic locations.”
According to Masie, because of the lack of real time data entry at the customer site, administrative tasks took up more of a salesperson’s time. They would write notes at meetings and enter the data in the evenings once they got home, to the office or to the hotel. The freshness was lost and salespeople have to duplicate their data recording and entry efforts.
“The net result of not having the right SFA solution is that 75 percent of SFA programs at the end of one year end up as shelf ware, i.e.; unused” said Masie.
Cura decided to take the optimized, simple design of their salesplus.net product and bring it to the popular Pocket PC Blackberry and Palm as new versions of these devices with phones and wireless synchronization were being developed.
Mobile SalesPlus users are able to receive emails, book appointments, and record tasks, access their database and use a global positioning system function to navigate from one location to another in one program suite. “In this way Contact management/SFA and CRM becomes a natural part of the sales process and involves no duplication of efforts,” said Masie. Studies show this is the single most effective way to get good data into these systems.
